Software
Cake Poker's free proprietary software is easy to use and navigate. The lobby is well organized; it is easy to find whatever game, tournament, or limit you are searching for.

You have a choice of several life-like 3D avatars (taken from real pictures of models) to represent yourself, or you can choose to have no avatar at all. You can also choose where you want to sit at the table. At Cake Poker tables you have the ability to record notes about your fellow players in your “notepad” (those notes will always be linked to the player in question, regardless of whether or not the player changes their nickname). You can color code your opponent’s identity, with each color representing a certain style of play: crazy, easy money, etc. Another nice feature of the software is that the table windows are now resizable!
Cake Poker players also have the option to change their player IDs every seven days.

Hand History
Cake Poker hand history is automatically saved to your hard drive in a text file. You do not have to do anything to turn it on, this is the default setting. You can get your saved Cake Poker hands on your hard drive from: C:\Program Files\Cake Poker\Hand Histories\.

Traffic
As Cake Poker is a newer site, Cake Poker has less traffic that some of the longer established online poker sites. However, Cake Poker is experiencing rapid growth--especially since partnering with Sportsbook.com--and now has around 5000 players on at peak times. Most people play cash games of low and mid staked No-Limit and Fixed-Limit Texas Hold’em. Cake Poker offers Texas Hold'em with No Limit, Pot Limit, and Fixed Limit. They also offer Pot-Limit Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, 7-Card Stud and 7-Card Stud Hi/Lo. Gold Cards
Gold Cards are part of a loyalty rewards program that Cake Poker offers to real money players from micro to high limit tables. Gold Cards are randomly handed out to the real money players participating in tournaments and ring games. You can redeem Gold Cards for various Cake Poker rewards, like exclusive Gold Card tournaments, prizes, and their instant cash Gold Card Daily Lottery, and other rewards.
How it works is, Gold Cards are given out in “Series.” Each time a Gold Card is awarded to a player, the total number of available Gold Cards diminishes. Eventually, there will be no more cards left and that series will have ended. Currently, CakePoker is now giving away Series III Gold Cards.
